Pleasantville, N.Y. - Senior Griffin Bremer (Higganum, Conn.) recorded his fifth win of the year as the Southern Connecticut State University baseball team split its doubleheader against Pace University today, 3-1 and 5-2.

RECORDS: SCSU (16-10) | PACE (10-7)

KEY PERFORMERS

Ethan Joyce (Exeter, N.H.) registered two hits and tallied three RBI to lead the Owls.
Anthony Zambito (Ridgewood, N.J.) went 2-for-4 and scored two runs.

GAME ONE
- Pace got on the board first scoring one run in the third, 1-0. Then, after three scoreless innings from both teams the Setters added another run in the sixth to double their lead. Pace drove in a run in the eighth inning to go up 3-0.

- The Owls responded in the top of the ninth as Joyce hit a RBI single to score Vincente Mendoza (Norwood, Mass.). However, the Owls failed rally back as the Setter took the first game 3-1.

GAME TWO 
- Both teams got on the board early each scoring one in the first inning.
Anthony Zambito scored off an attempted steal form Nick Lamberti (East Haven, Conn.) scoring the Owls first run.

- Two innings later the Owls offense added one more run. With the bases loaded 
Nolan Cloutier (Wallingford, Conn.) reached on a fielders choice allowing Tyler Criscuolo (Branford, Conn.) scored on a throwing error from first base, 2-1.

- In the fifth the Owls found their offensive groove scoring three in the inning to give them a 5-1 lead. With the bases loaded Joyce hit a RBI double to bring in Zambito and Lamberti, 4-1. Two batters later Criscuolo scored on a wild pitch increasing the Owls lead to four. 

- The Setters scored one run in the eight but were unable to mount a comeback to give the Owls the win.

- Bremer pitched 7.0 innings, striking out three and allowed only two runs in the win.
